For me, color is an important aspect of photography. I always capture moments in color as I can always process images to be black and white later. That said, I like to know the latest color trend as it influences everything around us, whether we realize it or not. This week, PANTONE released its color for 2021.
The PANTONE Color of the Year 2021 is not one color, but a pair! PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating.
PANTONE describes the color on its website as:
“It is a story of color that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly.”
I would not have imagined yellow as a pick for color of the year, but it works paired with the gray. A promise of something better is certainly in the minds of many of us as we look to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
I could see either Ultimate Gray or Illuminating being a great choice for either a wardrobe color or a background color to keep up with the color trend in 2021!
